This Privacy Policy describes how HamaraSetu ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application ("the App").

1. Who we are
HamaraSetu is a mobile application that connects customers with local kirana (grocery) shops in India, with optional delivery via independent delivery partners. The App is currently operated by Sara Stack Labs. HamaraSetu is in beta and not yet available to the general public.
2. Information we collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the App's core functionality.
2.1 Account and profile information
When you create an account or use the App, we collect:
- Phone number — required for sign-in via OTP (one-time password). This is your account identifier.
- Name (optional) — used on order receipts and to address you in the App.
- Email address (optional) — used to send order receipts and important account notifications.
2.2 Address information
When you place an order or save an address for future use, we collect:
- Recipient name, phone, and delivery address (line 1, line 2, city, pincode) — used to deliver your order.
You may save multiple addresses in your profile. You may delete any saved address at any time from the Profile screen.
2.3 Order information
We collect and retain:
- Order contents (items, quantities, prices)
- Payment method (Cash on Delivery or online payment via Razorpay) and payment status
- Delivery status and timestamps (accepted, prepared, picked up, delivered)
- Shop and delivery partner identifiers associated with your order
2.4 Device and technical information
We collect:
- Approximate location — used only to show you nearby shops. If you decline location access, the App falls back to a default location and continues to work.
- Device push notification token — used to send you order status updates (when your order is accepted, ready, out for delivery, and delivered). Stored on our servers and removed when you delete the App.
- Crash and performance data — anonymized, used to fix bugs.
2.5 What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect or store your payment card or bank account details. All payment information is collected directly by our payment processor (Razorpay) and is never sent to or stored by us.
- We do not collect biometric data (Face ID, fingerprint).
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your identity via phone OTP
- Show you nearby shops and their menus
- Process your orders and route them to the appropriate shop and delivery partner
- Send you order status notifications
- Provide customer support if you contact us
- Diagnose technical problems and improve the App
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing campaigns, or sale to third parties.
4. Who we share your information with
We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate the App. These providers are contractually bound to use the information only for the services they provide to us.

We may share information with:
- Shop owners — your name, phone, and delivery address for orders you place at their shop, so they can prepare and arrange delivery
- Delivery partners — your name, phone, and delivery address for orders assigned to them, so they can complete delivery. The phone number is only shown after they accept your order
- Government authorities — when required by law or legal process in India
We do not sell your personal information to third parties under any circumstances.
5. Data retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing sarastacklabs@gmail.com.
- Order history is retained for at least 3 years after the order date, for tax and regulatory reasons under Indian law.
- Saved addresses are retained until you delete them.
- Anonymized crash/performance data is retained for up to 90 days.
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and similar regulations, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information (via the Profile screen, or by contacting us)
- Delete your account and associated personal information (we will retain order history as required by law, but anonymize it)
- Withdraw consent for any optional data collection (e.g. location). Withdrawing consent may limit some App functionality

7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS / TLS)
- Server-side authentication and authorization checks
- Restricted access to personal data by our team and service providers
No system is perfectly secure. We will notify you promptly if we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information.
8. Children's privacy
HamaraSetu is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us at sarastacklabs@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. For significant changes, we will notify users via the App or via email.
